Why Source Ceylon Tea from Sri Lanka?
Ceylon tea — produced exclusively in Sri Lanka — is among the world’s most prized teas. Grown at elevations from 600m to over 2,100m in distinct regional microclimates, Ceylon tea offers unmatched flavor diversity: from the brisk, citrusy Nuwara Eliya high-grown teas to the full-bodied, copper-bright Ruhuna low-grown varieties.
Sri Lanka is the world’s fourth-largest tea producer and second-largest tea exporter by value, shipping to over 130 countries. The Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB) mandates quality certification through the Certificate of Origin, ensuring every kilogram is traceable to its estate and elevation.

What Importers Need to Know
Key regulatory and documentation requirements for importing Ceylon tea

EU & US Regulations
EU: Must comply with MRL (Maximum Residue Level) regulations — pesticide testing reports required. US: FDA registration of tea exporter facility required. All major Sri Lankan exporters maintain pre-tested compliance reports available on request.
Packaging & Labeling
