Description
Key attributes
Sri Lankan processors extract spices grown on the island into ingredients for supplement, food and flavour manufacturers: cinnamon bark extract, turmeric and curcumin extracts, and oleoresins of black pepper, ginger, cinnamon and other spices. Some use supercritical CO2 extraction, which leaves no solvent residue.
Every lot should come with a certificate of analysis showing the active content, solvent residues where a solvent is used, heavy metals and microbiology. We can arrange an independent test before shipment.
What to include in your request
- Extract or oleoresin, and the spice
- Active content or standardisation you need (for example curcumin 95%)
- Extraction method if it matters to you (solvent or CO2)
- Packing: drums, cans or bags
- Quantity and destination port
How to get a price: tell us the quantity, your specification and your destination port. We quote FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF, with lead time and minimum order, and arrange samples before an order.
Extract or oleoresin?
An oleoresin is a concentrated, often thick or viscous liquid that carries the full flavor and aroma of the spice. It is used by food and seasoning makers. A standardized extract is usually a powder set to a fixed active level, which suits capsules and tablets.
Tell us the end use and your target market. Supplement and food rules differ, and this affects the testing you need.
Samples and lead time
Samples are available before an order. Price, minimum order and lead time are confirmed with the quotation.
