About the platform

SriLankaExport.com is an independent private B2B marketplace operated by Harker International (Pvt) Ltd in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It connects international buyers with Sri Lankan exporters and manufacturers whose business documents our marketplace team has reviewed during onboarding. Every product on the platform must originate from Sri Lanka.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) or the Government of Sri Lanka.

  • International buyers: importers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers sourcing Sri Lankan products in bulk
  • Sri Lankan exporters and manufacturers: registered businesses looking for international buyers
  • Procurement teams evaluating Sri Lanka as a source

For Buyers

Sourcing Sri Lankan products in bulk, direct from exporters on the marketplace or through our Trade Desk.

The fastest way to reach every relevant Sri Lankan exporter at once. It is free and takes about two minutes. Watch the 35-second walkthrough, then follow the steps.

  1. Go to Post a Sourcing Request and describe what you need: product, grade, quantity (MOQ), and destination country.
  2. Add your target price or Incoterm if you have one (optional). The more detail, the sharper the quotes.
  3. Optionally tick Create a free account so you can track responses. Your email stays private. It is never shown on the public board.
  4. Submit. Your request is reviewed, then published to verified exporters, who send quotes back to you.

Every request you send us gets its own private page. We send you the link with our first reply, and you can open it at any time to see where things stand. Watch the 38-second walkthrough.

  1. Open the link from our email or WhatsApp message. If you have an account, your requests are also under My Account, Sourcing Requests.
  2. See the current step: received, preparing your quote, quote ready, samples, order confirmed, shipped.
  3. Read the updates our Trade Desk posts for you, and send us a message from the same page.
  4. The page is private to you. Anyone you forward the link to sees only these steps, never your prices or contact details.

For a specific product you have already found, request a quote or a sample directly from its page. Watch the 30-second walkthrough, then follow the steps.

  1. Open the product page and choose Request Quote for pricing on your quantity, or Request Sample to test quality first.
  2. Enter your quantity, destination, and any specifications. Samples are typically 1–5 kg for agri-products, or a single unit for manufactured goods.
  3. Send it. The exporter responds with a tailored quote, usually within one business day (Sri Lanka Standard Time, UTC+5:30).

All buyer–supplier conversations stay on SriLankaExport.com, so your enquiries, quotes, and history are in one place.

  1. On any product page, choose Message supplier to open a thread with that exporter.
  2. Ask about grades, certifications, lead time, or terms. Keep prices and quantities in the thread. Those are fine to send.
  3. Turn on Notify me in your inbox to get an alert the moment they reply, on any device.

A free buyer account gives you a dashboard for everything you have going.

  1. Sign in and open My Account. Your dashboard shows quick actions and recent activity.
  2. Open the Sourcing Requests tab to see each request you posted and its status: Under review or Live on board.
  3. For orders in transit, use the shipment tracker with your DHL or Sri Lanka Post number for live status.

It means our marketplace team reviewed the vendor’s onboarding documents (business registration, export references, and any certificates they submitted) before approval.

It is an internal marketplace review only. It is not a government certification, and not an EDB or Government of Sri Lanka endorsement. Always confirm certificate validity with the issuing body, and do your own import due diligence.

Browse products by category, or search by keyword. Each listing shows the supplier’s review status (suppliers who passed our onboarding review carry the SLE-Verified Supplier badge), available grades and certifications, pricing tiers, minimum order quantity and lead time.

Open the supplier’s store profile for their full range and business details before you make contact.

Yes, for stores that sell Sri Lankan groceries. We buy from several Sri Lankan brands and sell to you in one mixed shipment on one invoice, FOB Colombo. You are the importer in your country. See grocery wholesale for stores abroad.

For standard orders, add products to your cart and check out. Pricing tiers apply automatically by quantity.

For larger or custom orders, use Request Quote on the product page, or post a sourcing request and let our Trade Desk come back with one all-in price.

Everything is Sri Lankan in origin. The main categories are tea, spices, coconut products, rubber and industrial goods, textiles and apparel and ayurveda and wellness. If a product is not listed, ask anyway: our Trade Desk sources beyond the listings.

  • Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay at checkout
  • Wire transfer (SWIFT/TT) to Hatton National Bank, Sri Lanka
  • Letter of Credit for established trade

On a marketplace order, shipping terms are agreed with the exporter. Through our Trade Desk, we quote FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF your port, or another Incoterm you name, and the quote states exactly what is included.

  • Air freight: urgent and sample orders, typically 2 to 5 days from Colombo
  • Sea freight (FCL/LCL): bulk orders, typically 15 to 35 days depending on destination
  • Courier: small samples

Yes. Use Request Sample on the product page, or message the supplier. Sample and courier costs are quoted separately.

For Exporters & Vendors

Selling to international buyers. Registration and listing are free. A 5% fee applies only to completed sales. When the buyer pays through us, a 2% payout fee also applies.

Start with the express signup. It takes a minute and needs no business-registration number or password up front. Watch the 35-second walkthrough, then follow the steps.

  1. Open Become a Seller and pick the categories you export. You will see live buyer demand for each.
  2. Enter your name, business email, company, and (optionally) a WhatsApp number.
  3. Review and submit. Our Trade Desk follows up to complete your vendor account.

When a buyer needs your product, we email you a private page for that request, with the date we need your price by. Watch the 37-second walkthrough.

  1. Open the link in our email. If you sell on the platform, your requests are also listed in your Seller Center under Price requests for you.
  2. Send your price: the unit, the grade, how long the price holds, and when the goods can be ready.
  3. Add product photos, certificates, a lab report (COA) or a specification sheet if you have them. Our Trade Desk reviews everything before it is used.
  4. Cannot supply it? Tell us in one click and we will not chase you about that request.

Once you are approved, one good listing is enough to start receiving enquiries. Name, price tier, an MOQ, and a photo will do. You can refine it later. Watch the 45-second walkthrough, then follow the steps.

  1. Sign in and open your Seller Center dashboard, then choose Add Product.
  2. Add the product name, a short description, and a clear photo.
  3. Set your bulk price tiers and a minimum order quantity (for example, from 100 kg).
  4. Add lead time, shipping terms, and any certifications you hold.
  5. Save. Your listing goes live after a brief review and starts appearing to buyers.

Every enquiry reaches you by email and in your dashboard. Reply fast, as buyers often message several suppliers.

  1. When a buyer sends a trade enquiry or quote request, you get notified and it appears in your Seller Center.
  2. Reply on-platform with your price for their quantity, lead time, and terms.
  3. Keep the conversation on SriLankaExport.com so quotes, samples, and order history stay in one thread.

Vendor registration and product listing are free. There are no listing or subscription fees.

A 5% fee applies only to completed sales, plus a 2% payout fee when the buyer pays through us. You pay when you make a sale, never before. Optional premium placement is available at extra cost.

Already selling on Alibaba.com? You can keep that store and list here too. See how the two channels compare.

Register as a vendor at srilankaexport.com/vendor-register/. Once your account is approved, use Add Product in your vendor dashboard. Include the description, grades, pricing tiers, minimum order quantity, lead time and any certifications. Products go live after a short review.

Our team reviews the documents a vendor submits. This is an internal marketplace review, not a government certification or EDB endorsement. It may cover:

  • EDB registration or directory listing, where applicable: vendor-reported only; we do not verify it against EDB records, and EDB registration is voluntary (Gazette 2118/60, 2019)
  • Business registration: supporting documents reviewed; some records may be confirmed with the Registrar of Companies where public verification or vendor authorization is available
  • Export history: vendor-submitted shipment references, where available
  • Certificates: vendor-submitted copies (ISO, organic, Fairtrade and others) reviewed for presence and scope; validity should be confirmed with the issuing body

The review typically takes 3 to 5 business days. Vendors who pass receive the SLE-Verified Supplier badge, which indicates internal marketplace review only.

  • Reach buyers abroad who are sourcing Sri Lankan products
  • On marketplace sales you deal with the buyer directly
  • The SLE-Verified Supplier badge shows buyers you passed our review
  • Orders, invoicing and buyer messages are handled on the platform

How the marketplace works

The model, in plain terms.

It depends which way you buy. On the marketplace we are not a broker: we provide the platform and trade infrastructure, and the transaction is between you and the exporter. Through our Trade Desk we will source on your behalf, and there we are acting as a principal, not a passive platform.

On a marketplace sale we charge the exporter 5% on completion: nothing is added to the buyer’s price, and there are no listing or subscription fees. On a Trade Desk quote we give you one all-in price with our margin inside it, which is not a fixed percentage and is quoted per deal. The site is operated by Harker International (Pvt) Ltd and is not affiliated with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) or the Government of Sri Lanka.

We encourage direct resolution first. If that fails, we offer mediation support for verified transaction disputes. In confirmed fraud cases, the account is suspended and the appropriate authorities are notified.

All data in transit uses SSL/TLS encryption, and we do not store card data on our servers. Buyers pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay at checkout, by wire transfer to Hatton National Bank (Sri Lanka), or by Letter of Credit. Your business and contact information is not shared with third parties outside the platform.
