Description
Key attributes
Beli mal is the dried flower of the bael tree, Aegle marmelos. Beli mal tea, made by steeping the dried flowers and often sweetened with jaggery, is one of the most common drinks in Sri Lankan homes and roadside tea stalls, especially after meals and during the hot months.
The flowers are collected during the tree’s flowering season and sun dried, so supply is seasonal and prices move with the harvest. We quote each lot when it is available rather than publishing a fixed price.
Not the fruit. Dried bael fruit slices are a different product with a different use. This listing is for the flowers only.
What to include in your request
- Quantity and when you need it, so we can match the season
- Moisture, colour and foreign matter limits
- Lab parameters for the certificate (microbiology, heavy metals, pesticide residues)
- Packing and destination port
We send a sample before a full order, and every lot can be tested by an independent laboratory. We do not make health claims for this product; buyers who sell it as a food or tea are responsible for the rules in their market.
Packing and shipping
Lots are packed to your instruction, usually in food-grade inner liners inside woven polypropylene sacks or cartons, and labelled with the lot number that matches the laboratory certificate. Trial and sample lots ship by express courier; larger orders by air or sea freight, quoted FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF to your port. Products from several Sri Lankan suppliers can share one container through our consolidation service.
How to get a price: tell us the quantity, your specification and your destination port. We quote FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF, with lead time and minimum order, and arrange samples before an order. The range shown is indicative, from market evidence; your quote is confirmed against a supplier offer.
