Description
Key attributes
Sri Lanka has large biscuit and bakery manufacturers that export to grocers and distributors worldwide. Typical lines are cream crackers, Marie-type tea biscuits, cream-filled and coconut biscuits, and frozen breads, buns and flatbreads such as roti and paratha.
What to include in your request
- Products and flavours
- Pack format and carton size
- Shelf life you need
- Label language and any certification your market requires (we ask the maker what they hold)
- Quantity: pallets or containers, and destination port
How to get a price: tell us the quantity, your specification and your destination port. We quote FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF, with lead time and minimum order, and arrange samples before an order.
Ambient and frozen lines
Biscuits and crackers ship at ambient temperature in dry containers. Frozen breads, roti and paratha need reefer containers held frozen all the way to your cold store, so plan the lines in separate shipments or confirm the maker can supply both. Biscuit shelf life depends on the recipe and the pack, and humid routes favor sealed inner wraps.
What to tell us for a quote
- Branded or private label, and your artwork if private label
- Ambient, frozen or both
- Ingredient limits your market sets, such as allergen or additive rules
- Pallet pattern and carton marking you need
Quality and documents
Each lot can be tested by an independent laboratory before shipment. Export documents are arranged with the shipment.
Samples and lead time
Samples are available before an order. Price, minimum order and lead time are confirmed with the quotation.
