Description

Sri Lanka is one of the world’s leading makers of intimate apparel. It exported about US$561 million of bras and similar garments in 2025, and its factories make lingerie for major international brands. Intimates are technical garments, with moulded cups, underwire, elastics, hooks and lace, and the country’s factories have specialised in them for decades.

Fit and sizing

Bra fit depends on the pattern and grading across band and cup sizes. Factories work from your size chart, or develop one, and fit samples are worn and adjusted before bulk.

How made-to-order works

Sri Lankan garment factories make clothing for many well-known international brands, and they work to the buyer’s design. You send a tech pack, sketches or a reference garment; the factory develops a sample; you approve fit, fabric and finish; and the bulk order is made to the approved sample. Your labels, tags and packing are applied in the factory.

Minimum order per style and colour depends on the factory and the fabric. Larger factories work in thousands of pieces; mid-size factories take smaller runs. We match your order size to a factory that fits it, and confirm minimum, sample cost, lead time and price with the quote.

Packing and shipping

Orders are packed to your instruction and shipped by sea in a full or shared container, or by air for samples and small lots, quoted FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF to your port. Products from several Sri Lankan suppliers can share one container through our consolidation service.

How to get a price: tell us the quantity, your specification and your destination port. We quote FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF, with lead time and minimum order, and arrange samples before an order.

Which trade terms do you quote?

FOB Colombo; CFR; CIF. Freight is quoted per shipment for your quantity and destination.

Which documents come with the shipment?

Every export shipment carries a certificate of origin. Ask the desk which other certificates your country requires.

Can I check quality before a bulk order?

Yes. Start with a sample or trial lot. We can also arrange a pre-shipment inspection or an independent lab test for any order.

How do I pay safely?

First and trial orders of about USD 2,000 to 20,000 can be paid through Escrow.com, which releases the money only after you accept the goods. Larger orders are paid by letter of credit.
