For grocery stores abroad

Stock your Sri Lankan grocery store from one supplier.

Several Sri Lankan brands in one mixed shipment, on one invoice. We buy from the factories in Sri Lanka and sell to you, and no factory is paid until its goods pass an independent inspection.

How an order works

Five steps, and one gate that protects you

You deal with one company, Harker International, which runs SriLankaExport.com. We are the seller on your invoice.

You send your list

Brands, products and cartons. Start with what you cannot find locally.

We quote one price

The whole mixed load FOB Colombo, freight to your port shown separately.

You pay a deposit

By bank transfer to us, or a letter of credit through your own bank.

We buy and inspect

An independent inspector checks cartons, labels and expiry dates before any factory is paid.

Balance, then documents

Once the goods are on the ship, you pay the balance and we release the original documents.

Why step 4 matters. A short or mislabeled shipment is caught in Colombo, not in your store, and the factory that sent it is not paid until it is put right. You receive the inspector’s report with photographs of the loading.

Who does what

Clear roles, no surprises at customs

You, the importer

In your own country

  • Import the goods under your name, with your customs broker
  • In the USA: file FDA prior notice and hold the FSVP responsibility
  • Pay by deposit and balance, or by letter of credit
  • Sell with your own prices and your own customers

Us, the seller

Harker International, in Sri Lanka

  • Buy from each factory and consolidate the load in Colombo
  • Check labels against your country’s rules before we ship
  • Book the independent inspection and send you the report
  • Send the factory documents you need for customs and FSVP

Common questions

Before you send a list

Who is the importer?

You are. In the USA that means you (or your customs broker) file the entry and FDA prior notice, and you hold the FSVP responsibility for the foods you import. We send the factory documents you need for that, and we check labels against the importing country’s rules before we ship.

Do you hold my money until delivery?

No. We do not hold funds ourselves. You pay us as the seller: a deposit when you order and the balance before we release the shipping documents. If you want a third party in the middle, pay through Escrow.com, a licensed escrow service, or use a letter of credit through your own bank.

Which brands can you get?

Send us the brands you stock today. We will tell you which we can supply and confirm each one before we quote. We only name a brand on a quotation once its factory has agreed to supply it.

What is the smallest order?

Tell us what you need. Shared shipments let a single store order less than a full container. We will tell you when a load is too small to be worth the shipping.

What does US import need for these products?

See our guide to importing Sri Lankan groceries into the US: what clears easily, what needs extra FDA filings, and why most Sri Lankan packs fail on the label.

Send us the list you wish you could fill.

Tell us what you stock and what keeps running out. We will come back with what we can supply and a price.
