Description

Ceylon batik is a recognised form of resist-dyeing with strong cultural identity and growing demand among fashion brands, homewares retailers, and lifestyle product manufacturers. Sri Lanka’s batik industry produces both hand-drawn (batik tulis) and screen-printed versions. The former for premium applications, the latter for brand-scale production runs.

All fabric is produced on 100% cotton base cloth unless specified otherwise. Custom design services are available with a design strike-off sample (first 3 m) before production approval.

  • Hand-Drawn Batik (Batik Tulis): Artisan-produced, each piece unique. MOQ 200 m. Price from LKR 1,800/m at volume.
  • Screen-Print Batik (Production Grade): Consistent repeat patterns for retail. MOQ 500 m. Price from LKR 750/m at volume.
  • Digital Print (Custom): Your artwork on Ceylon cotton. MOQ 500 m. Lead time: 6 weeks from artwork approval.

Design Services

We offer custom colourway development, repeat adaptation, and design-to-production services. Submit your artwork (vector or 300 dpi raster) and our production team will provide a strike-off sample within 2 weeks before any bulk commitment.

Shipping

Rolls of 50 m per polybag. FOB Colombo or CIF to destination port. Lead time: 4 to 6 weeks (screen-print) or 8 to 12 weeks (hand-drawn). Air freight available.

Which documents come with the shipment?

Every export shipment carries a certificate of origin. Ask the desk which other certificates your country requires.

Can I check quality before a bulk order?

Yes. Start with a sample or trial lot. We can also arrange a pre-shipment inspection or an independent lab test for any order.

How do I pay safely?

First and trial orders of about USD 2,000 to 20,000 can be paid through Escrow.com, which releases the money only after you accept the goods. Larger orders are paid by letter of credit.
