Description

Ceylon cinnamon quills in C4, a Continental grade. C4 is a mid-range quill: thicker and more robust than Alba, and priced accordingly, which makes it the working grade for buyers who need true Ceylon cinnamon in volume rather than the finest cosmetic finish. It suits retail packing, food manufacturing, spice blending and grinding.

True Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) is a different species from cassia and is naturally low in coumarin.

Ceylon cinnamon is graded by quill diameter and finish, not by quality alone. Alba is the finest and palest, followed by the Continental range (Extra Special, C5 Special, C5, C4), then Mexican and Hamburg grades. A lower grade is not a lesser product, it is a thicker quill, and the right grade depends on whether the cinnamon is being presented whole or ground.
