Alba is the thinnest Ceylon cinnamon grade: quills 6 mm or less in diameter, the thinnest and most delicate bark, rolled by hand from true cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum). Used where appearance matters, in premium retail packs, gift ranges and fine dining. Standard 42 inch quills or cut to your length.

How cinnamon grades work

Ceylon cinnamon is graded by quill diameter. Alba is the thinnest, followed by the Continental grades (C5 Special, C5, C4) and then the Mexican and Hamburg grades, which are thicker. Thinner quills have more layers of inner bark per quill and a sweeter, milder aroma. Featherings, chips and quillings are the broken or trimmed pieces, used for grinding and extraction.
