Description

Natural coconut fibre from Sri Lanka, cleaned and washed for use as bird nesting material. Coir fibre is springy and strong and holds its shape, and birds weave it into nests. It is used by aviary keepers and breeders in nest boxes, and sold to gardeners in dispensers that hang in the garden in spring.

Fibre

Sri Lanka produces brown coir fibre from mature coconut husks, graded by length. Nesting material uses long and medium fibre with the dust removed. It is supplied undyed and without chemical treatment.

Import paperwork

Coir is a plant product. Most importing countries ask for a phytosanitary certificate, and some set their own conditions for coir. Check your country’s rules before ordering; we supply the export documents.

Retail packs can carry your brand. Send us your artwork, pack size and labelling requirements for your market, and we confirm packing options, minimum order and lead time with the quote. You remain responsible for the label claims made in your market.

Orders are packed to your instruction and shipped by sea in a full or shared container, or by air for samples and small lots, quoted FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF to your port. Products from several Sri Lankan suppliers can share one container through our consolidation service.

How do I pay safely?

First and trial orders of about USD 2,000 to 20,000 can be paid through Escrow.com, which releases the money only after you accept the goods. Larger orders are paid by letter of credit.
