Marketplace Verification Policy

1. What verification means on SriLankaExport.com

“Verification” on this platform means an internal marketplace review by the SriLankaExport.com team of vendor-submitted information, performed to assess marketplace onboarding readiness. The marketing label for the result of this review is the “SLE-Verified Supplier” badge.

This is a private, commercial review. It is not government approval, EDB endorsement, certification by SriLankaExport.com, customs acceptance, destination-country import approval, or any guarantee of product quality, authenticity, or fitness for purpose.

2. What the review may include

Marketplace review may include any or all of the following, where applicable to the vendor’s product category and to the extent the vendor provides the information:

• Sri Lanka business registration documents and ownership / contact details
• Tax / customs references where applicable
• EDB registration or directory listing details, where applicable, as reported by the vendor
• Product information (catalog, MOQ, lead time, packaging, specification sheets)
• Vendor-submitted certification copies (e.g. Organic, ISO, HACCP, Halal, Fairtrade, SLS, Lion Logo, GI), reviewed for presence and stated scope
• Stated export history and references where lawfully verifiable
• Bank or payment account details necessary for marketplace settlement
• Vendor compliance declarations under the Vendor Agreement and Export Compliance Policy

3. What the review does NOT mean

Completing marketplace review and displaying the SLE-Verified Supplier badge does not mean any of the following:

• Endorsement, approval, or certification by EDB, Sri Lanka Business Portal, the Government of Sri Lanka, or any government authority
• Independent confirmation of vendor claims against issuing-body records (e.g. we do not verify Organic, ISO, or Halal certificate numbers against the issuing body’s registry)
• Customs acceptance, destination-country import approval, or any guarantee that a product or shipment will clear customs
• Any guarantee of product quality, authenticity, origin, fitness for purpose, or absence of defects
• Any guarantee that the vendor will perform on a specific order, deliver on time, or honor quoted terms

Buyers should independently verify final documents, certificates, and shipment details with the issuing authority, customs broker, importer of record, or destination-country regulator before relying on them.

4. Suspension or revocation

Marketplace verification may be revoked or suspended at any time if any of the following occurs:

• Submitted information is found to be inaccurate, expired, suspended, disputed, unverifiable, or misleading
• The vendor fails to update or remove expired or revoked certificates, licenses, or claims
• The vendor breaches the Vendor Agreement, Vendor Code of Conduct, or other applicable policy
• A government authority, certification body, or regulator notifies SriLankaExport.com of a concern relating to the vendor
• A reasonable complaint or dispute identifies a material misstatement

5. Status labels (Wave 5)

In a future release, individual certificates displayed on vendor profiles and product pages will carry status labels indicating the review state for that specific document: for example: Vendor-submitted certificate, Certificate copy reviewed, Certificate pending update, Certificate available on request, or Buyer must verify before shipment. Until those per-certificate labels are live, the single SLE-Verified Supplier badge represents the vendor-level review described above only.
