Coconut oil pressed from dried copra, supplied refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) or as crude copra oil. RBD oil is neutral in taste and smell and is the grade food manufacturers, frying operations and cosmetic makers buy in volume. RBD or crude

Crude copra oil is the raw pressed oil. It has a stronger smell and a darker colour, and it is usually bought by refiners or soap and oleochemical makers. RBD oil has been cleaned for direct use in food, frying and cosmetics. Coconut oil is solid below about 24 °C, so drums and flexitanks may need warming to unload in a cold climate.
