Description
Key attributes
These are whole water lily flowers, picked and dried in Sri Lanka, sold for potpourri, dried-flower decor and botanical display. They are not sold for consumption: not as a food, tea, supplement or for smoking, and we do not quote for those uses.
In Sri Lanka water lilies are offered every day at Buddhist temples, and the blue water lily (nil manel) is widely grown in village tanks and ponds. The white flowers come from the same habitats.
Which species you receive
The common names are used loosely. Sri Lanka’s native water lily is Nymphaea nouchali, while much of the blue flower sold as “blue lotus” worldwide is Nymphaea caerulea, and sources disagree on how the two relate. We do not guess: the botanical name of the lot we ship is taken from the supplier’s documents and printed on the proforma and the commercial invoice.
