Description
Key attributes
Sri Lankan processors supply cashew kernels in the standard grades: whole kernels by count (such as W240 and W320), splits and pieces, plain or roasted and seasoned.
Origin. Some kernels processed in Sri Lanka come from imported raw nuts. We state the origin of the nuts with each quote.
What to include in your request
- Grade (for example W240, W320, splits, pieces)
- Plain, roasted or seasoned
- Packing: vacuum bags, tins or cartons
- Quantity per shipment and destination port
How to get a price: tell us the quantity, your specification and your destination port. We quote FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF, with lead time and minimum order, and arrange samples before an order.
How cashew grades work
The W in W240 or W320 means white whole kernels. The number is the count of kernels per pound, so W240 kernels are larger than W320. Scorched wholes carry an SW code. Splits are kernels broken lengthwise. Butts are broken crosswise. Pieces are graded by size. Wholes suit retail snack packs. Splits and pieces suit bakery, confectionery and food service, where the lower cost per kilo matters more than the look.
Quality and documents
Buyers usually set limits for moisture, broken kernels, foreign matter and aflatoxin. Each lot can be tested by an independent laboratory before shipment. Export documents are arranged with the shipment.
Samples and lead time
Samples are arranged before an order. Price, minimum order and lead time are confirmed with the quotation.
