Description
Key attributes
Green cardamom is the dried seed pod of Elettaria cardamomum, grown in the hill country of central Sri Lanka. Buyers use whole pods for cooking, spice blends, coffee and tea, and for grinding into seed or powder.
Cardamom is priced mainly by pod size and colour: larger, evenly green pods sell at a premium over smaller or paler lots. We quote each lot to your specification rather than a single list price.
What to include in your request
- Pod size in millimetres (for example 6 to 7 mm, 7 to 8 mm, 8 mm and above)
- Colour and any limits on split, empty or yellow pods
- Moisture limit and whether you need seeds or powder instead of whole pods
- Packing, quantity per shipment and destination port
Each lot can be tested by an independent laboratory before shipment. Tell us which parameters you need on the certificate.
How to get a price: tell us the quantity, your specification and your destination port. We quote FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF, with lead time and minimum order, and arrange samples before an order.
Certification and compliance: Supplied from Department of Export Agriculture registered processors · USDA-certified organic supply · Fairtrade certified supply available · Rainforest Alliance certified supply available · FSSC 22000 (GFSI) certified processing available. Tell us what your market requires and we confirm the certificate for your order.
