About PVC sheeting

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) sheeting is a plastic sheet made by calendering or extruding PVC resin with plasticizers, stabilizers and pigments. Flexible grades contain plasticizer and roll easily, while rigid grades contain little or none and hold their shape.

The material resists water, many chemicals and abrasion, which is why it is used widely in industry and construction. Sheeting is commonly traded by thickness in millimeters or microns, width, roll length or sheet size, color and transparency.

Storage and documents

Store rolls indoors, out of direct sunlight and away from heat, so the sheet does not stick or deform. Buyers usually ask for a technical data sheet, test reports against the standard they buy to, a certificate of origin and a packing list. Exact thickness, width, roll length, color, MOQ and price are confirmed on the quote.

What to include in a quote request

A clear request usually states the dimensions and thickness needed, the color or design, the standard or test the material must meet, the quantity per shipment and how often, the packing (rolls, cartons or pallets), the destination port and the Incoterm, for example FOB Colombo or CIF. A sample is often requested before a first order to check finish and color.
