Description

Orthodox Ceylon black tea in the larger leaf grades: OP, OPA, Pekoe and FBOP. Leaf grades brew a lighter, more fragrant cup than broken grades and are used for loose-leaf retail and blending.

Final specification is agreed against a sample. Minimum order 1,000 kg per grade. Price on request through the SriLankaExport trade desk.

Reading the grades

  • OP (Orange Pekoe): long, wiry leaf
  • OPA: a bolder, longer leaf than OP
  • Pekoe: shorter, curled leaf
  • FBOP (Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe): a broken leaf that can carry tips
