Sri Lanka exported about US$156 million of swimwear in 2025. Swimwear is made by the same factories that specialise in intimates, because it uses the same skills: stretch fabrics, cups and linings, elastics and precise fit.

Fabric and prints

Swim fabric needs resistance to chlorine, salt water and sun. Prints can be developed from your artwork. Recycled nylon swim fabrics are available from some mills; ask for the certificates your market expects.

How made-to-order works

Sri Lankan garment factories make clothing for many well-known international brands, and they work to the buyer’s design. You send a tech pack, sketches or a reference garment; the factory develops a sample; you approve fit, fabric and finish; and the bulk order is made to the approved sample. Your labels, tags and packing are applied in the factory.

Minimum order per style and colour depends on the factory and the fabric. Larger factories work in thousands of pieces; mid-size factories take smaller runs. We match your order size to a factory that fits it, and confirm minimum, sample cost, lead time and price with the quote.

Packing and shipping

Orders are packed to your instruction and shipped by sea in a full or shared container, or by air for samples and small lots, quoted FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF to your port. Products from several Sri Lankan suppliers can share one container through our consolidation service.
