Description
Measures total ash and acid insoluble ash as a percentage of the sample.
Acid insoluble ash is mostly sand and soil, so it shows how clean a lot is. The Sri Lankan cinnamon standard (SLS 81) and many buyer specifications set a maximum.
Often used for: Cinnamon, black pepper, other spices, tea, herbs.
How it works
- Tell us the product, the lot or supplier if you know it, and the destination market.
- We reply with the laboratory, the test method, the turnaround and the full cost. We say whether the test is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited at that lab.
- A sample is drawn from the lot and delivered to the lab.
- The laboratory issues its report in its own name, directly to you.
Priced per sample, not per kilo, so testing 100 grams costs the same as testing a container. Nothing is charged until you approve the quote. You can also name a laboratory yourself, including one in your own country.

Which documents come with the shipment?
Every export shipment carries a certificate of origin. Ask the desk which other certificates your country requires.
Can I check quality before a bulk order?
Yes. Start with a sample or trial lot. We can also arrange a pre-shipment inspection or an independent lab test for any order.
How do I pay?
You agree payment terms directly with the exporter on the quote, and pay the exporter. Larger orders are usually paid by letter of credit.
