Rubberized coir is curled coconut fiber sprayed with natural rubber latex and cured into sheets. It is firm, springy and breathable, and it uses two materials Sri Lanka produces itself: coir and natural rubber. Makers of natural and organic mattresses use it as a firm core or support layer, and it is also used in upholstery, pet beds and some filters.

Sheets are bulky but light, so they ship compressed or stacked in full containers. They can be combined with coir fiber, coco peat or latex products in one shipment.
