Six ways we take the risk out of a first order

These apply to orders arranged through our Trade Desk. You choose which you want, and each is quoted before you pay anything.

Sample first

Order a small sample before the full lot, so you can check quality and grade yourself.

We seal the sample

Our team draws the sample from your lot and seals it, so the supplier cannot swap in a better one.

Pre-shipment inspection

We visit the supplier and check quantity, weight, packing and labels, with photos, video and the seal number.

Lab report before it ships

An independent laboratory in Sri Lanka tests the sealed sample. Each quote says which tests are accredited and which are not.

Pay through Escrow.com

On eligible first orders, Escrow.com holds your payment and releases it to us only after you receive and accept the goods.

Letter of credit for containers

Full container orders are paid by letter of credit through the banks, the standard protection for large shipments.

Escrow.com is an independent, licensed escrow service. We use it as the seller, Harker International (Pvt) Ltd, which operates SriLankaExport.com.

Which orders qualify

  • Orders arranged through our Trade Desk where Harker International (Pvt) Ltd is the seller.
  • Orders of about USD 2,000 to 20,000. Smaller orders use our sample and trial route; full containers use a letter of credit.
  • Your bank must be in a country Escrow.com serves. We tell you when we quote.
  • The Escrow.com fee is paid by the buyer unless we agree otherwise in the quote.

Listings sold directly by an exporter are contracted and paid directly with that exporter, so Escrow.com does not apply to them unless the order goes through our Trade Desk.

Beware of fake escrow links

We only use escrow.com. A real deal always starts with an email from Escrow.com itself, and you log in at escrow.com. Never pay through an escrow link sent by anyone else, even if it uses our name. If you are unsure, log in at escrow.com directly or contact us before paying.
