About sheet vinyl flooring
Sheet vinyl is a resilient floor covering made mainly of PVC, supplied in wide rolls so it can be laid with few seams. A typical construction has a backing, a printed design layer and a clear wear layer on top. Fewer joints mean fewer places for water and dirt to collect, which is why sheet vinyl is used in kitchens, bathrooms and clinics.
It is commonly specified by total thickness, wear layer thickness, roll width (often 2 or 4 meters) and design.
Common uses
- Homes: kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms
- Shops and offices
- Schools and clinics
- Rental and refurbishment projects
Storage and documents
Store rolls or cartons flat, indoors and at room temperature, and let the flooring acclimatize before laying. Buyers usually ask for a technical data sheet, test reports for wear, slip resistance and fire behavior to the standard they buy to (for example EN or ASTM), a certificate of origin and a packing list. Exact thickness, wear layer, size, design, MOQ and price are confirmed on the quote.
What to include in a quote request
A clear request usually states the dimensions and thickness needed, the color or design, the standard or test the material must meet, the quantity per shipment and how often, the packing (rolls, cartons or pallets), the destination port and the Incoterm, for example FOB Colombo or CIF. A sample is often requested before a first order to check finish and color.
