Description

Penaeus monodon (Black Tiger Prawns) farmed and wild-caught from Sri Lanka’s coastal waters. Available HOSO (head-on shell-on), HLSO (headless shell-on), PD (peeled & deveined), and PUD (peeled undeveined). IQF or block frozen. Sizes: 8/12, 13/15, 16/20, 21/25, 26/30 count/lb. EU and US import compliant.

Trade terms: FOB Colombo (CIF available on request). Lead time confirmed per order at quotation. Samples available on request. Export documentation and shipping coordinated by the SriLankaExport.com Trade Desk.

Forms and sizes

  • HOSO: head-on, shell-on
  • HLSO: headless, shell-on
  • PD: peeled and deveined
  • PUD: peeled, undeveined

Sizes are sold by count per pound: 8/12, 13/15, 16/20, 21/25 and 26/30. A lower count means larger prawns. Choose IQF (individually quick frozen) for pieces that separate easily, or block frozen for processing.

Quality and documents

Prawns are supplied for EU and US import. Each lot can be tested by an independent laboratory before shipment, and the export documents for your market are arranged with the shipment. Samples are available on request, and lead time is confirmed with the quotation.

Which trade terms do you quote?

FOB Colombo; CIF on request. Freight is quoted per shipment for your quantity and destination.

Which documents come with the shipment?

Every export shipment carries a certificate of origin. Ask the desk which other certificates your country requires.

Can I check quality before a bulk order?

Yes. Start with a sample or trial lot. We can also arrange a pre-shipment inspection or an independent lab test for any order.

How do I pay safely?

First and trial orders of about USD 2,000 to 20,000 can be paid through Escrow.com, which releases the money only after you accept the goods. Larger orders are paid by letter of credit.
