Description

Ceylon tea packed in gift tins, boxes and multi-tea sets, under your brand. Sri Lanka has packed tea for export for well over a century, and tea packers can fill tins and gift boxes with loose leaf or tea bags in the same factory.

  • Black teas from the main growing regions, such as Nuwara Eliya, Dimbula, Uva and Kandy

  • Flavoured teas, such as cinnamon, Earl Grey and fruit blends

Formats

Single tins, gift boxes with several tins or caddies, and assortment boxes of individually wrapped tea bags. Tell us the format, the number of teas and the weight per tin.

Lion logo

The Sri Lanka Tea Board’s Lion logo can only be used on packs of 100% Ceylon tea packed in Sri Lanka, under licence. If you want it on your pack, tell us so it can be arranged.

Private label

Retail packs can carry your brand. Send us your artwork, pack size and labelling requirements for your market, and we confirm packing options, minimum order and lead time with the quote. You remain responsible for the label claims made in your market.

Packing and shipping

Orders are packed to your instruction and shipped by sea in a full or shared container, or by air for samples and small lots, quoted FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF to your port. Products from several Sri Lankan suppliers can share one container through our consolidation service.

How to get a price: tell us the quantity, your specification and your destination port. We quote FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF, with lead time and minimum order, and arrange samples before an order.

How is it packed?

Which trade terms do you quote?

FOB Colombo; CFR; CIF. Freight is quoted per shipment for your quantity and destination.

Which documents come with the shipment?

Every export shipment carries a certificate of origin. Ask the desk which other certificates your country requires.

Can I check quality before a bulk order?

Yes. Start with a sample or trial lot. We can also arrange a pre-shipment inspection or an independent lab test for any order.

How do I pay safely?

First and trial orders of about USD 2,000 to 20,000 can be paid through Escrow.com, which releases the money only after you accept the goods. Larger orders are paid by letter of credit.
