Ceylon turmeric is prized for its exceptionally high curcumin content (3–5%, compared to 2–3% in most Indian varieties) and its deep golden-orange color. Sri Lanka’s humid tropical climate and red laterite soils produce turmeric with a distinct earthiness and clean, mild bitterness.
