Choosing a grade
Ceylon cinnamon is not cassia
Most cinnamon in world trade is cassia. Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) is a different species, graded by quill diameter from Alba, the thinnest, through the C, M and H grades to quillings and chips. Our cinnamon grade guide i pepper grade guide explain the grades, and the kalendarz zbiorów shows when each crop comes in.
Common questions
Before you ask for a quote
Who is the seller?
Harker International, which runs SriLankaExport.com. We buy from the Sri Lankan producer and sell to you, so we are the seller on your invoice.
Who is the importer?
You are. You or your customs broker file the import entry in your country. In the USA that includes FDA prior notice and your FSVP responsibility. We send the producer documents you need, including the certificate of origin and lab reports.
Do you hold my money until delivery?
No. We do not hold funds ourselves. You pay us as the seller: a deposit when you order and the balance before we release the shipping documents. If you want a third party in the middle, pay through Escrow.com, a licensed escrow service, or use a letter of credit through your own bank.
What is the smallest order?
Most bulk spices start at a trial lot, and several can share one shipment. Each product page shows its minimum order. For a first look, order a sample.
Can I get organic spices?
Yes, from producers that hold a current organic certificate. We send the certificate with the quote and only call a lot organic when the certificate covers it.
I want to contact exporters directly.
See our directory of Sri Lankan spice exporters. This page is for buying through us.
Tell us the spice, the grade and the port.
We come back with a price, the grades we can supply and what a sample costs.
