How it works

You see the laboratory, the tests and the full cost before anything is sampled. Nothing is charged until you approve.

1

Tell us the product and market

The product, the lot or supplier if you know it, and where it is going. The destination decides which tests matter.

2

We quote it

We propose a laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for those tests, with the test list, turnaround and full cost.

3

The sample goes to the lab

A sample is drawn from the lot and delivered to the lab. If you need chain of custody, the laboratory’s own sampler can draw it.

4

The lab reports to you

The laboratory tests the sample and issues its report and certificate directly to you, under its own name.

Common tests by product

A starting point, not a rule. The right list depends on your market and your customer, and we confirm it with you before quoting.

A supplier’s COA and an independent report are different things

Both have their place. Know which one you are holding.

The exporter’s own COA

A statement by the producer about their own goods, often from their in-house lab. Useful and free, but it is the seller speaking.

An independent laboratory report

An accredited laboratory’s result on a sample, issued in the laboratory’s name. This is what many retailers, importers and banks ask for.

Paying for testing

Pay by Visa, Mastercard or American Express through a payment link we email you, or by wire transfer to Hatton National Bank, Sri Lanka. Card payments are processed in the United States.

Request lab testing or a COA

Tell us the product and the tests you need. We send you the accredited lab, the test list and the full cost before anything is sampled. The lab issues its report and certificate directly to you.

Used only to reach you about this request. Paste a full international number if you prefer and the code box is ignored.

Free to ask. Nothing is sampled or charged until you approve the quote. The laboratory, not SriLankaExport.com, performs the tests and issues the certificate. Your details are never shown publicly.

Questions

Does SriLankaExport.com test or certify the goods?

No. The laboratory performs the tests and issues the report under its own name. We arrange it: we find the right lab, get the sample to it and keep you informed. We do not add our own certification to anything.

Does a report cover my whole shipment?

A laboratory report describes the sample it tested. How well that sample represents your shipment depends on how it was drawn, which is why you can ask for the laboratory’s own sampler.

Is this the same as pre-shipment inspection?

No. Pre-shipment inspection checks quantity, packing, marking and loading. You commission it from an inspection company, and we arrange access to the goods. Ask us if you need both.

Who pays for the tests?

You do, at the price in the quote you approved. We tell you the full cost first, including any fee of ours for arranging it, and nothing is sampled until you say yes.

How long does it take?

It depends on the tests. Simple checks such as moisture can take a few days; pesticide residue panels usually take longer. The quote gives the laboratory’s turnaround.
