Description

Chai blends made with strong Ceylon black tea and spices that Sri Lanka also grows: cardamom, Ceylon cinnamon, cloves and black pepper, with ginger. Karak chai, the strong milky tea popular across the Gulf, is usually made from a strong broken or CTC tea, often with cardamom. Masala chai adds a wider mix of spices.

Formats

Who buys it

Karak cafes and tea shops in the Gulf, food-service distributors, and tea brands with a chai range. The tea and spices come from Sri Lankan producers, and blending in Sri Lanka keeps both ingredients from one origin.

Private label

Retail packs can carry your brand. Send us your artwork, pack size and labelling requirements for your market, and we confirm packing options, minimum order and lead time with the quote. You remain responsible for the label claims made in your market.

Packing and shipping

Orders are packed to your instruction and shipped by sea in a full or shared container, or by air for samples and small lots, quoted FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF to your port. Products from several Sri Lankan suppliers can share one container through our consolidation service.

Which documents come with the shipment?

Every export shipment carries a certificate of origin. Ask the desk which other certificates your country requires.

Can I check quality before a bulk order?

Yes. Start with a sample or trial lot. We can also arrange a pre-shipment inspection or an independent lab test for any order.

How do I pay safely?

First and trial orders of about USD 2,000 to 20,000 can be paid through Escrow.com, which releases the money only after you accept the goods. Larger orders are paid by letter of credit.
