The moringa or drumstick tree (murunga in Sinhala) grows in home gardens all over Sri Lanka, where its long pods are a curry vegetable. When the pods are left on the tree to dry, they split to release three-winged seeds. Those seeds are used to raise new trees, are pressed for moringa seed oil (ben oil), and are studied as a natural coagulant in water treatment trials.

Import rules

Seeds for sowing are tightly controlled. Most countries require an import permit and a phytosanitary certificate from Sri Lanka’s National Plant Quarantine Service, and some require testing or treatment on arrival. Check your country’s rules first; we supply the export documents. Our leaf products (powder, tea and dried leaves) are listed separately.

Nurseries and farm projects, oil pressers, seed distributors and university or NGO research teams.

Private label

Retail packs can carry your brand. Send us your artwork, pack size and labeling requirements for your market, and we confirm packing options, minimum order and lead time with the quote. You remain responsible for the label claims made in your market.

Orders are packed to your instruction and shipped by sea in a full or shared container, or by air for samples and small lots, quoted FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF to your port. Products from several Sri Lankan suppliers can share one container through our consolidation service.
