Description

High-activity coconut-shell granular activated carbon (typical iodine number 1000 to 1100 mg/g), mesh-graded (8×30, 12×40, and to specification) for municipal and industrial water treatment, dechlorination, point-of-use and point-of-entry filters, and air purification. Hard, low-dust, microporous carbon from a renewable feedstock.

NSF/ANSI 61 and AWWA B604 conformance documentation available on request; Certificate of Analysis per batch.

Reading the specification

Iodine number is a measure of micropore volume. A higher figure means more capacity for small molecules such as chlorine and many organics. Mesh size sets the particle range: 8×30 is coarser and gives lower pressure drop in large beds, while 12×40 is finer and gives faster adsorption in smaller filters.
