M5 is a Mexican grade of Ceylon cinnamon: quills of about 16 to 18 mm, a good balance of quality and value, cut to 3 inch or 5 inch sticks. Popular for Latin American markets and food service. Price shown is per kg for 5 inch sticks, FOB Colombo; 3 inch sticks are quoted slightly higher.

How Ceylon cinnamon is graded

Ceylon cinnamon quills are graded by diameter. Thinner quills rank higher: Alba is the thinnest, then the C grades, then M and H grades. M grades have a wider quill and more bark per stick. That makes M5 a practical grade for stick packs, infusions and cooking, where appearance matters but the thinnest quill is not needed.
