Every company here holds a current organic certificate from Control Union on the public register, and cloves is named on it. To be sold as organic in Mexico, product must be certified under the Ley de Productos Orgánicos (LPO) by a body SENASICA approves. Control Union México is one, and Control Union certifies every company here. Companies marked Mexico LPO certified hold LPO on Control Union’s register today; the others hold USDA or EU organic with Control Union and would need to add LPO, which our Trade Desk can ask them to do. Mexico also sets plant health requirements (SENASICA) and labelling rules (NOM-051) for each product.
