Beschreibung

Weaving with palmyrah and other palm leaves is a traditional Sri Lankan craft, especially in the north and east of the island. Weavers make baskets, mats and hats. Sri Lanka exported about US$26 million of caps and hats in 2025, including plaited palm hats.

Each hat is woven by hand, so size and weave vary slightly. Sizes are confirmed on the sample.

Palm leaf is a plant material. Some countries ask for treatment or a phytosanitary certificate for dried plant goods. Check your country’s rules; we supply the export documents.

Private Label

Retail packs can carry your brand. Send us your artwork, pack size and labelling requirements for your market, and we confirm packing options, minimum order and lead time with the quote. You remain responsible for the label claims made in your market.

Which trade terms do you quote?

FOB Colombo; CFR; CIF. Freight is quoted per shipment for your quantity and destination.

Which documents come with the shipment?

Every export shipment carries a certificate of origin. Ask the desk which other certificates your country requires.

Can I check quality before a bulk order?

Yes. Start with a sample or trial lot. We can also arrange a pre-shipment inspection or an independent lab test for any order.

How do I pay safely?

First and trial orders of about USD 2,000 to 20,000 can be paid through Escrow.com, which releases the money only after you accept the goods. Larger orders are paid by letter of credit.
