Sri Lanka exported about US$137 million of sleepwear and loungewear in 2025. Sleepwear is often made by the same factories that make intimates, using soft knits, woven cotton and satin.

Children’s sleepwear has flammability rules in several markets, including the United States, which affect the fabric and the fit. Tell us if your range includes children’s sizes so the factory plans the testing.

How made-to-order works

Sri Lankan garment factories make clothing for many well-known international brands, and they work to the buyer’s design. You send a tech pack, sketches or a reference garment; the factory develops a sample; you approve fit, fabric and finish; and the bulk order is made to the approved sample. Your labels, tags and packing are applied in the factory.

Minimum order per style and colour depends on the factory and the fabric. Larger factories work in thousands of pieces; mid-size factories take smaller runs. We match your order size to a factory that fits it, and confirm minimum, sample cost, lead time and price with the quote.

Which trade terms do you quote?

FOB Colombo; CFR; CIF. Freight is quoted per shipment for your quantity and destination.

Which documents come with the shipment?

Every export shipment carries a certificate of origin. Ask the desk which other certificates your country requires.

Can I check quality before a bulk order?

Yes. Start with a sample or trial lot. We can also arrange a pre-shipment inspection or an independent lab test for any order.

How do I pay safely?

First and trial orders of about USD 2,000 to 20,000 can be paid through Escrow.com, which releases the money only after you accept the goods. Larger orders are paid by letter of credit.
