Natural rubber is tough and bouncy, and dog-toy brands use it as an alternative to synthetic plastics. Sri Lanka grows natural rubber, and its rubber moulding plants can make toys from a buyer’s design or develop one.

What can be made

• Chew toys and bones

• Hollow toys that hold food or treats
