Sri Lanka exported about US$50 million of socks and hosiery in 2025. Sock knitting is a specialised process, with dedicated machines that knit the logo or pattern into the sock and cushioning into the sole.

#### Packing

Socks are usually sold on hangers, with header cards or bands, or in multipacks. Packing and barcodes are applied in the factory to your artwork.

#### How made-to-order works

Sri Lankan garment factories make clothing for many well-known international brands, and they work to the buyer’s design. You send a tech pack, sketches or a reference garment; the factory develops a sample; you approve fit, fabric and finish; and the bulk order is made to the approved sample. Your labels, tags and packing are applied in the factory.

Minimum order per style and colour depends on the factory and the fabric. Larger factories work in thousands of pieces; mid-size factories take smaller runs. We match your order size to a factory that fits it, and confirm minimum, sample cost, lead time and price with the quote.
