Description
Key attributes
Sri Lankan coir mills turn coconut husk fibre into garden products that replace plastic: weed-control mats and discs that sit around a plant and rot down, coir pots that go into the ground with the seedling, grow poles for climbing plants, and liners for hanging baskets. Most are made from needle-punched or latex-bonded coir sheet.
What to include in your request
- Product and size (for example 20 cm weed discs, 10 cm round pots, 60 cm poles)
- Plain coir or latex-bonded
- Loose, shrink-wrapped or retail packed, and your label if any
- Quantity per shipment and destination port
How to get a price: tell us the quantity, your specification and your destination port. We quote FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF, with lead time and minimum order, and arrange samples before an order.
How these products are used
- Weed mats and discs block light around a new plant and let water through, so mulching and hand weeding are reduced.
- Coir pots let roots grow through the wall, so the seedling is planted pot and all.
- Grow poles hold moisture and give aerial roots something to grip.
- Basket liners hold compost in wire baskets and drain freely.
Latex-bonded sheet is stiffer and lasts longer outdoors. Plain needle-punched coir breaks down faster.
