Coconut shell is the hardest biomass for charcoal production, giving coconut-derived activated carbon the highest pore density and iodine value of any activated carbon source. Sri Lanka’s mature coconut industry makes it one of the most reliable suppliers of high-grade coconut shell charcoal globally.
