Sri Lanka makes woven polypropylene (PP) packaging for its own exports of rice, sugar, fertiliser, coir and minerals, and also exports it. Made-up textile articles such as tote bags, sacks and bulk bags exported about US$40 million in 2025.

  • Woven PP sacks: for grain, feed, sugar, fertiliser and chemicals, plain or printed, laminated or with liners
  • FIBC bulk bags: flexible intermediate bulk containers, also called jumbo or big bags, holding several hundred kilos to over a tonne
  • Tote bags: cotton, canvas or woven PP shopping and promotional bags

FIBC specification

Bulk bags are specified by safe working load, safety factor, dimensions, top and bottom spouts, lifting loops and whether they are coated or food grade. Tell us the product you fill and how you handle the bags, and we confirm the design and the test certificate on the sample.

Every export shipment carries a certificate of origin. Ask the desk which other certificates your country requires.

Can I check quality before a bulk order?

Yes. Start with a sample or trial lot. We can also arrange a pre-shipment inspection or an independent lab test for any order.

How do I pay safely?

First and trial orders of about USD 2,000 to 20,000 can be paid through Escrow.com, which releases the money only after you accept the goods. Larger orders are paid by letter of credit.
