Long-leaf OP1 Ceylon black tea, the grade many Gulf buyers ask for by name.

OP1 is a leaf grade of Ceylon black tea: long, slender, wiry leaves that are more tightly twisted than standard OP. It brews a lighter, smooth cup and looks good in the pack, and buyers in the Gulf, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia often order it by name.

#### Choosing an OP1

- Low-grown OP1 from the Ruhuna and Sabaragamuwa districts gives a darker, sweeter leaf and is the usual choice for Middle East buyers
- High-grown OP1 is brighter and lighter in the cup
- OP1 sits alongside OPA (bolder leaf) and OP (standard), and we can sample all three side by side

#### How it is bought

Ceylon tea is mostly sold through the weekly Colombo tea auction, so prices move week to week with the market and with each estate’s lot. Send us a reference sample or describe the cup you want, and we match it with samples before you confirm.

#### Packing

Bulk paper sacks or chests for packers, or retail boxes and pouches under your brand.

#### Private label

Retail packs can carry your brand. Send us your artwork, pack size and labeling requirements for your market, and we confirm packing options, minimum order and lead time with the quote. You remain responsible for the label claims made in your market.

#### What to tell us for a quote

- The product, grade or specification you need, and a reference sample if you have one
- Quantity per order and how often you buy
- Pack size, packaging and labeling
- Destination port and the Incoterm you prefer
- Documents your market requires, such as a certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate or lab test reports

#### Packing and shipping

Orders are packed to your instruction and shipped by sea in a full or shared container, or by air for samples and small lots, quoted FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF to your port. Products from several Sri Lankan suppliers can share one container through our consolidation service.

How to get a price: tell us the quantity, your specification and your destination port. We quote FOB Colombo, CFR or CIF, with lead time and minimum order, and arrange samples before an order.
