The buyer guides, sourcing playbooks and trade tools on SriLankaExport.com are produced by our Trade Desk, which runs from two places: Sri Lanka, where the sourcing actually happens, and the United States, on Central time. It is a small desk, and the people who answer buyer enquiries are the people who write the guides. ### How we research and fact-check

Every guide is researched against primary sources and written to a consistent honesty standard:

- Primary sources first: customs tariff schedules and HS classifications (WCO), the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), and the relevant international standards and authorities (for example EFSA and the German BfR for food-safety limits, ASTM and EN for product standards, IFRA for fragrance ingredients).

- No invented figures: prices, duties and specifications are given as sourced, indicative ranges with a named basis, never as fabricated precision. Where a number varies, we say so.

- Claim-neutral on regulated topics: we describe constituents, standards and trade facts; we do not make health, performance or certification claims, and we flag where a buyer must verify (for example, per-factory audits or current tariff rates).

- Sourced & dated: guides cite the authorities they rely on and are updated as trade rules change.
